Bridgeport News: City Man Charged With Arson

We reported this to you LIVE as it was happening last night: #Bridgeport, CT – Aug. 20, 2014 – A city man faces arson charges following a fire at 1810 Stratford Ave.The fire department responded this morning just after 2 a.m. on a report of a structure fire.  Police arrived and spoke with firefighters and witnesses.  A relative of the suspect told police that the suspect came to the residence and discovered his video game system was missing. He broke a television and then lit a garbage bag on fire. Police responded and received a description of the suspect. An officer observed him walking on Arctic Street and detained him.  The suspect, identified as Santiraj Chounlamountry, 31, of Bridgeport, was charged with first-degree arson,…

4:19pm--#Trumbull CT-- EMS called to Church Hill Road and Pete Road (?) for a father and son who were walking on a trail, slipped and fell into a beehive.  Needless to say they have multiple bee stings.  I was unable to find a Pete/Peet/Peat Road on Google Maps EMS were directed to go there. 2:11pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters called for a structure fire at 1810 Stratford Avenue.  They have just arrived on scene, reporting there is nothing visible from the street but an alarm is going off.  They are checking it out, now reporting there was a fire on the third floor, the sprinklers went off and flooded the second floor.  UPDATE: Firefighters are still fighting the fire according to latest radio transmission.  UPDATE: Police called for a tenant that was acting suspiciously. Bridgeport News: Fire Strikes Remington Arms….Again

#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters from surrounding town assisted Bridgeport Firefighters in attacking the quarterly blaze at the Remington Buildings on Barnum Avenue. Viewers from as far away as Ansonia reported to be able to see the smoke. Firefighters had the majority of the fire knocked down before 1pm but shortly after the fire had jumped to a multi-family home at 101 Helen Street. Firefighters from Stratford Fairfield assisted in putting that one out. The fire is suspicious and the fire marshal was quickly called to the scene.
