The Westport Police Athletic League (PAL) and the Westport Parks and Recreation after reviewing the projected weather forecast for Thursday July 3rd reschedule the Fireworks Celebration to Monday July 7th Due to the projected weather forecast, we felt that it was necessary that we reschedule the fireworks display. We hope that this notification will allow people to reschedule their plans to enjoy the celebration on Monday July 7th at Compo Beach. The challenge in writing this is to be brief otherwise most won't read it all. I'll give some the descriptions on the photos. So here goes: It was a beautiful night and we chose to eat outside on the patio. 10:46pm--A boat has struck the rocks at Pleasure Beach stranding those on board. Firefighters and marine units on the way. The boat is taking on water. 11:30pm--UPDATE--All four on board safely on the fire boat. UPDATE--Reports say its on the Stratford side. Bridgeport firefighters are already on scene. 11:00pm--UPDATE--Radio transmissions say they are closer to the Port Jeff Ferry. 6:44pm--#Bridgeport CT--A Fourth Street woman called police that her mother, allegedly high on drugs pulled out a knife on her after a disputer over mail she refused to to over to the daughter. Police are investigating. Two Men Arrested in Armed Street Robbery

(Bridgeport, CT – July 1, 2014) – Two city men face charged in connection with an armed street robbery that occurred Thursday. According to Detective Art Calvao, the robbery happened near the intersection of Reservoir and Woodrow avenues. The victim had been assaulted, threatened with a firearm and robbed of his cell phone and cash. Through this investigation by detectives, two suspects were identified and detectives set up surveillance at their residence on 218 Douglas St. Monday. One of the suspects, Robert Stovall, 25, came out of this location and entered a vehicle that pulled up in front of the house. The car then drove off. With the assistance of Sgt. Fairfield News: Grill Fire Cause By Leaking Propane Tank

3:33pm--#Fairfield CT--Some scary moments for the homeowners at 184 Sigwin Drive when they had a grill fire on their 2nd story deck that was attached to the home. The fire was due to a leaking propane tank. Assistant Fire Chief Scott Bisson took charge of the scene and reported the fire was quickly extinguished and the remainder of the tank was vented.
