Power washer confused for fire….
4:22pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters respond to smoke from a building on Nautilus Road (off Reservoir Ave). Turns out to be the mist from a power washer was confused for smoke or steam.
Swimming Bears
12:25pm--#Bridgeport CT--Report of a couple of bears swimming near the bathhouses at Seaside Park. Marine unit reported back that they are very good swimmers so I guess this isn't their first encounter with them.
Man Charged With Stealing Car Engine
(Bridgeport, CT -- Sept. 7, 2013) -- Dripped motor oil from a stole automobile engine led detectives directly to a suspected burglar last week. Detective Angel Llanos arrested Emmanuel Rios, 24, for first-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny and criminal mischief. He was freed after posting $5,000 bond. The recovered 2003 Honda Accord engine was returned to the repair shop from which it was stolen. Police had responded to Nunez Auto Repair on Iranistan Avenue on Aug. 30 on a burglary report. The burglars gained entry through the roof and several items were stolen from the business, including an engine with a blown piston, that was in a storage area. 2:02am--#Bridgeport CT--Tonight's car fire is at Laurel and Iranistan Avenue. One person burned. Witnesses say it was set by a know party after learning alcohol was in the car!
West Haven
12:19pm--#West Haven--Report of a large fire in a two and a half story wood frame building at 774 Washington Street. The bulk fo the fire has been knocked down. Animal control requested for two pitbulls.
