Locked out & dinner burns

7:54pm–#Bridgeport CT–Firefighters help a tennant in the 100 block of Anton Street who locked herself out of her apartment on the second floor, and dinner on the stove began to burn. Firefighters gained access and are now ventilating the apartment. Time for plan B, dinner from Arthur’s Famous Pizza House 430 Park Avenue. They deliver too! 203-333-8173

Fairfield Planet Fitness Fire

5:03pm–#Fairfield CT—#ctfire–Just after 5pm firefighters received a call of a fire inside the gym at Planet Fitness on Black Rock Turnpike. A fire marshal from another town was in the gym working out when the fire started and evacuated the facility. The fire appears to be electrical in nature tripping the fuse at the circuit breaker.

Milford man burned

#Milford CT–An employee of City Carting on Old Gate Road is recovering from burns he received over sixty percent of his body. The 18 year old man was standing near a 55 gallon drum which for unknown reasons had a fire burning in it. Milford officials said a flammable liquid used to start the fire raged out of control burning the man. Coworkers got the man to the ground, pulled his burning clothes off and extinguished the fire. The incident took place Tuesday around 11am and the victim is recovering in Bridgeport Hospital with second degree burns on sixty percent of his body. His name has not be released.

Fire truck involved in crash on the way to a fire

#Bridgeport CT–Shortly after noon, the Fire Department did respond to a structure fire in an occupied home at 97 White St. The fire department responded and quickly extinguished the fire, which was inside the walls of the home. While responding, Ladder 6 was involved in a motor vehicle accident involved a car at the intersection of Barnum and Central. One firefighter was taken for observation to the Immediate Health Care clinic, an walk-in clinic run by Saint Vincent’s Medical Center. The fire truck sustained minor damage.
The driver of the other vehicle declined medical treatment.
The Red Cross responded to assist displaced residents, three adults and one child.
