Open House for the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department will be Sunday October 6th from 12pm noon until 3pm. This is a really fun event for kids of all ages including the husbands!
Domestic incident with a gun
1:49pm–#Stratford CT–Police are looking for a burgundy Explorer van after a domestic incident on Bruce Avenue. The suspect took out a gun during the argument and then fled down Bruce Avenue in the van. Police activity in the area including #Bridgeport.
Possible robbery in Bridgeport
12:46pm–#Bridgeport CT– Report of a possible robbery at 3710 Main Street. The robber, wearing a red hat, red shirt and jeans fled onto Main Street. A gun was possibly displayed.

Video Report–Stubborn Arson Car Fire–
Just before 2:30amfirefighters were called to a report of a car that crashed into a structure that burst into flames on Asylum Avenue.
It turns out to be a car near a building that was intentionally set and created a challenge and a spectacular blaze.
As you can seen from the video a line of gasoline from the vehicle ran down the curb but a quick thinking firefighter spread dirt from the curb to stop the spread of the fire down the street.
Quick thinking from the firefighters and assistant fire chief on scene kept the fire just to the vehicle and not into the building.

Shooting in Bridgeport
Video Report–#Bridgeport CT–Police UPDATE:
A man and a woman were shot Tuesday evening in the area of East Main and Essex streets.
Officer Kateema Riettie responded to the area just before 11 p.m. on a report of shots fired and encountered a group of people who said they had been fired upon. Two had been struck but neither suffered life threatening injuries.
Shalierys Garcia, 20, and Gerald Lusmat, 24, both were transported to Bridgeport Hospital. Garcia was struck in the upper right arm. Lusmat was struck in the ankle. None of the victim could describe their assailants.
Detective Todd Toth is leading the investigation.
Original report:
Just before 11pm Tuesday night a man called police that his girlfriend had been shot while the were walking on East Main near Essex Street. Initial police radio reports said the woman was shot in the arm, but as you can seen in the video a man was also being treated by EMS. Neither injuries appeared to be life threatening. The shooters fled on foot down Essex Street. Police are investigating. If we get any further updates we will let you know on DoingItLocal.com

10:46pm–#Seymour CT–Tonight’s 2nd car fire is at Rimmon/Maple and Clinton Road. Car is fully involved and the intersection is shutdown.
