As we reported live as breaking news: Fairfield Fire Department responded to I-95 Northbound approximately 1 mile before Exit 19 to the report of a motor vehicle accident. Fairfield Fire Department work in conjunction with Westport Fire Department at that single vehicle accident. The vehicle left the roadway and went over the guardrail continuing down a steep embankment through thick overgrowth and trees for approximately 100 feet before coming to rest on its roof. The driver of the vehicle was sitting on the guardrail and immediately treated by Westport EMS and AMR Ambulance and transported to the hospital. Fairfield and Westport Fire departments stabilized the vehicle and assessed the 3 victims remaining in the vehicle. 2 victims were pronounced dead…

It is very early in the investigation but the video appears to show the victim was shot on the porch and police were looking for shell casings in the Getty Gas Station next door. It is unknown of the victim's status. We will update as soon as we receive them.

Fire department to investigate. 7:17pm--Bridgeport--Firefighters responded to a laundromat at 2462 Fairfield Ave. Upon arrival [caption id="attachment_5722" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Air inversion may cause false alarms of fires tonight."][/caption] they reported smoke on the roof. Upon further investigation they found no smoke or fire. The air mass we are experiencing tonight is heavy so any type of smoke is taking longer to to rise and sometimes hovers. Camera Falls during Insight Bowl

What appeared to be a falling satellite during the Insight Bowl turned out to be the floating camera which has become common in sports for the last decade.  Lining up for a play near the 20-yard line at  of Sun Devil Stadiu in Arizona Friday.   Two Hawkeyes had to jump out of the way when the camera fell when the wire appeared to snap. SkyCam out of Tulsa OK provided the camera for ESPN.  No one was injured.

Fairfield Fire Department responds to chemical spill at General Electric

As we reported as the story was breaking on December 29, 2011 at 5:58 PM, the Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an outside chemical spill at General Electric Headquarters located at 3135 Easton Turnpike. A worker observed a large amount of fluid coming from one of the buildings and reported the problem to GE security. In accordance with local and state protocols, GE activated their emergency response plan and notified the Fairfield Fire Department and Connecticut DEEP of the spill. Upon arrival, the first fire units were notified that approximately 500 gallons of diluted heat transfer fluid from the buildings utilities had accidentally leaked from a broken pipe and entered the storm drainage system. [caption id="attachment_5686" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="10 Homeless After This Fire"][/caption] Approximately 3:10am firefighters received a call of a structure fire at 26/28 Clinton Avenue possibly with trapped children, unknown floor. By 3:15 first units arrived and found heavy fire in the rear and that the building and it was occupied on the first floor. Initial searches found no one trapped and primary searches confirmed this. The fire was confined to the third story in the rear of the building. The video does show heavy smoke and water damage throughout the building. By 3:26am the bulk of the fire had been knocked down and firefighters continued working fire extensions into the building. Three fire lines were used in the attack. Around 4am…
