A Bridgeport man was arrested by the Trumbull Police on Sunday, September 20, 2026, for the burglary of a daycare facility on Beardsley Parkway. The suspect, Latrell Eppes, age 32, of Bridgeport was taken into custody by officers after he was located in a stolen motor vehicle in Bridgeport.
The owner of the daycare contacted the Trumbull Police around 7:15 a.m. reporting that their business had been entered during the overnight hours and approximately $1200 cash was stolen from the business. The owners explained that they also said that a car was missing. As officers were investigating this incident the vehicle was tracked to the parking lot of the North End Variety in Bridgeport.
When officers arrived at the variety store, they were able to locate Eppes exiting the variety store and entering the vehicle. At this time officers apprehended Eppes and took him into custody without incident. Eppes had in his possession a large amount of cash, suspected narcotics, the keys to the stolen vehicle, and cash believed to have been stolen from the daycare.
Eppes was charged with Burglary, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Narcotic, and other related charges. The subject was held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 30, 2026.
