Data Breach Warning

Attorney General William Tong urged Robinhood users to exercise additional caution following a data breach that exposed millions of customer names and email addresses. The online stock trading platform confirmed today that a hacker tricked a customer service representative over the phone into turning over access to Robinhood’s customer support systems. That information gave the hacker access to email addresses for five million people, and the full names of two million people. 2021 Family Holiday Giving Program

Fairfield Social Services has kicked off its 2021 Family Holiday Giving Program to help Fairfield families in need during the  holiday season. Last year more than 150 families received gift cards, generously donated by their neighbors, including individuals, businesses, faith-based and community  organizations. COVID has brought many challenges from job loss to childcare expense and many worries in between. Rather than   collecting wrapped gifts and toys, we are again requesting gift cards for supermarkets, gas stations, your favorite local stores and businesses, Amazon, Target, Walmart - anywhere families shop for their loved ones for the holidays. Governor Ned Lamont and officials from several Connecticut state agencies are advising residents of global energy commodity cost increases that are driving energy prices this winter, including electric generation rates, natural gas rates, and home heating oil prices, and various efforts that are being undertaken in the state to help mitigate the impact of these external forces in Connecticut. During the pandemic, worldwide demand for natural gas and oil declined as the economy slowed, and producers returned money to shareholders after years of losses, rather than invest in new production.
