Fairfield Restaurant Week Summer Edition

The Town of Fairfield’s Office of Community & Economic Development is pleased to announce that more than two dozen restaurants will take part in the summer edition of Fairfield Restaurant Week. Now in its 15th year, the ever-popular event will run for two full weeks beginning Monday, August 24th through Sunday, September 6th. Restaurants participating in the upcoming summer edition of Fairfield Restaurant Week will be offering special prix fixe or other discounted lunch and dinner menus showcasing their finest culinary offerings. Bridgeport Celebrates Juneteenth

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed. The day has since become a time to reflect on the end of slavery in the United States while also celebrating Black history, achievement, family, and community pride. In Bridgeport, the holiday brought people together to honor that history while enjoying music, food, vendors, fellowship, and family-friendly activities. For many, Juneteenth is both a celebration and a reminder of the long road toward equality, justice, and opportunity.
