Bridgeport Free Electronic Recycling

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joseph Ganim is reminding residents that the City of Bridgeport offers free electronic recycling six days a week. Bridgeport residents may bring their unwanted electronics to the Bridgeport Recycling and Transfer Station located at 475 Asylum Street, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Residents are required to bring proof of residency. Accepted materials include, but are not limited to: Computers, Laptops, Printers, Fax Machines, Monitors, TVs, Cell Phones, Tablets, Video Games, Game Consoles, VCR/DVD Machines, Remotes, Keyboards, Computer Mice, Modems, Small Appliances, and Stereo Equipment. Congressional Art Competition

It is my pleasure to announce the 2017 Congressional Art Competition, an annual, nation-wide art contest sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives. I encourage all students in grades 9-12 who reside in or attend high school in Connecticut's Fourth Congressional District to participate. This is one of my favorite annual events, and meeting the student artists and their families is something I look forward to each spring. Entries are judged by a panel of local artists and representatives of arts organizations in Southwest Connecticut. Norwalk News: February Officers Of The Month

Officer Tyrone Boyd and Officer Shoubert Paulemon were named the February 2017 Norwalk Police Department Officers of the Month. Officers Boyd and Paulemon responded to a residence for a suicidal person call. Upon their arrival, they found a very distraught person holding a knife to their throat and threatening suicide. These officers calmly talked to the person and got her/him to put the knife down. The individual was transported to the hospital for evaluation. This person recently sent a letter to Chief Kulhawik thanking the officers for saving her/his life. These officers’ actions in diffusing a dangerous situation speak to their professionalism and character. Congratulations to you both. (Norwalk Police Press release)

Norwalk News: Wanted Person

#Norwalk News: The Norwalk Department of Police Service currently holds (4) arrest warrants for Rashel Williams, date of birth May 25, 1981. The warrants charged Williams with larceny, ID theft, credit card fraud and forgery. Recently Williams worked at a local doctor’s office as a receptionist. Bridgeport News: 2 Shot In Bridgeport – 1 Dies

UPDATE from Bridgeport Police: On March 18, 2017 at 1355 hours, Gregory Francilme  3/20/98) and a second male were shot while outside 201 Bretton Street. Francilme was shot in the head and died last night at St. Vincent's Medical Center. The second male victim underwent surgery at St. Vincent's and is expected to survive. The motive for the shooting is currently being investigated, but detectives have identified a person of interest in this shooting, and anticipate that an arrest will be made shortly.   #Bridgeport News: Today at 1:55pm, a shooting incident occurred in the rear of 201 Bretton Street.
