1:35am–Bridgeport–Police suspect car bombing at car fire at 757 Madison Ave (near the Hookah Lounge). Police are investigating.

9:38pm–Bridgeport–Police reporting approximately 10-15 rounds shot at 170 Hollister Ave. Medics called to the scene. A very clean black newer model Dodge Charger, black male driver, 6 foot tall slender built wearing all black responsible for the shooting.

Bridgeport Fire Department responded to a fire at 556 Carroll Ave shortly before noon today. The fire started on the second floor and quickly spread to the attic. They have requested the arson investigation team to the scene. The Red Cross is helping relocate those living in the apartments.

4/8@ 12:33pm–Bridgeport– Ruptured gas line in the basement at 792 Madison Ave. It’s between Taft and McKinley Ave. so expect that area to be blocked off.  12:40pm–Fire department arrives on scene, smells a strong odor of gas on the street.  Gas company is on scene.  12:42–Fire department reports ZERO readings in the basement at this time, still remaining on scene.

 

5:02pm–Bridgeport–Police investigate a car on Manhattan Ave. after it was called in by a citizen that this car might have been involved in the attempted child abductions in the Read School/Colorado Avenue area.    This turned to be a false lead but police on scene were enthused with the public’s awareness and willingness to catch this person.

 

2:51pm–Bridgeport–Shooting at 730 Palisades Ave. One man down. Shooter takes off on a purple scooter. Police are looking for a Hispanic Male, bald wearing a black jacket. 2:59–UPDATE–Weapon recovered. 3:00pm–UPDATE–Victim is alert and conscious but in serious condition. Police say there were plenty of witnesses and they are cooperating.   UPDATE–The victim has passed, see full report from ConnPost at here.

12:02pm–Fairfield–Notre Dame High School in Fairfield evacuated. Teacher on the second floor over come with using an acrylic spray, paramedics called. The fire alarm sounded to evacuate the school. This is isolated to this one room one teacher (unknown at this time). 12:24–UPDATE–Fairfield Notre Dame Evacuation Update–One person transported to St. , Vincent’s Hospital. Building vented, classes to resume and alarm recalled.

2 men were ejected from their pickup truck after being hit by a city bus at Barnum Avenue and Pembroke Street in Bridgeport, CT shortly before 10pm.

4:10pm–Bridgeport–Another child abduction attempt in Bridgeport just occurred on on Colorado Ave. attempted to abduct a 12 year old girl. The girl refused and then the suspect fled towards Clinton Avenue and approached another girl. Police are looking for a blue vehicle with tinted windows that have bubbles in the tint, possible CT Plate # 468 XYT. The vehicle has rear end damage, driven by a black male with a white do-rag and white baseball cap.
What started as a shoplifting attempt turned armed robbery today in Fairfield today. The suspect was captured a short time later in Bridgeport and has been known to have done this in the past.
