Just before 5pm Monday firefighters quickly responded The Black Rock Oyster Bar on Black Rock Turnpike for a report of a fire in the basement of the restaurant and that the fire was near a propane tank. Bridgeport Fire Department battled a smoke blaze on the third floor at a factory at 56 Cherry Street early Tuesday morning. The blaze was quickly contained and no injuries were reported. Here are the sights and sounds from the fire.
Bridgeport–Black Rock Yacht Club at 80 Grovers Road received some serious damage from Irene early Sunday morning. Firefighters discovered that the build was lifted off its foundation. We are told the dance floor inside is raised up at least one foot. The pool area also received significant damage. The bar was unscathed.
