Fairfield–Around 3:45pm Saturday afternoon a report of a Fairfield Motorcycle Patrol Officer went down on his motorcycle on Post Road near the library at Old Post Road. The busy intersection was closed for about a half hour. At first it was uncertain if the officer was struck or forced down but police have told us he just lost control and went down. The officer was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital with an ankle injury. The intersection was reopened around 4:15pm.
