Last night Bridgeport Police made three arrests in the Garfield Avenue area.    These three (3) individuals are the reason of the increase of armed robberies in the area of Madison Ave. and Wayne St. area.  Members of the departments  Violent Crime Initiative Unit that consist of uniformed officers under the supervisor of Sergeants Ronald Mercado and Bradford Seely obtained  information as it was broadcast and converged on the area with their officers and where able to capture the suspects at various locations within the immediate area of the robbery.

Arrested in the incident were all Bridgeport residents.  Dave Steele 18 yr.old,  and  Shakur Thorpe 19 yr.old, both charged with Robbery 1st. degree, Conspiracy at Robbery 1st deg., Carrying A Pistol W/O Permit   Theft of a Firearm, Criminal Trespass 2nd Deg., bond set for each at $ 100,000.00.

Andre Ellis 22 yr. old, charged with Robbery 1st deg., Conspiracy @ Robbery 1st deg., Carrying a Pistol W/O Permit, Theft of a Firearm, Criminal Trespass 2nd deg., Interfering with a Officer, bond set at $100,000.00.

All parties were arraigned today at Superior Court, 172 Golden Hill St., Bridgeport. Ct.
