On Friday, June 1, 2012, the Town of Fairfield’s Tax Collector Department mailed over 7000 tax delinquent notices to Fairfield taxpayers. A glitch in the software conversion system failed to filter out notices stating that taxpayers owe notices of $2 or less. Any taxpayer who received a notice owing $2 or less should ignore that notice.

Fiscal Officer Paul Hiller said, “The Town regrets this error and will correct this problem immediately. Any taxpayer who had received this notice will have their account
corrected.”  Anyone who has questions about this glitch, may call the Tax Collector’s office at 203-256-3100.
