Just before 5pm Friday a passerby reported to fire dispatch that there was a fire at the corner of Foggwood Road and Foggwood Circle in the Greenfield Hills section of Fairfield.

A short while later a neighbor  phoned confirming it was 100Foggwood Road and that all the occupants were out of the homes safely.   Firefighters on arrival confirmed a heavily involved fire on the left side of the home.  Assistant Fire Chief George Gomola lead the charge in the pouring rain calling in for more resources  and mutual aid from surround towns to cover the town while the battled this blaze.

An SUV fully involved in flames was in the driveway and used a lineman for a good extent of the fire due to the gasoline burning off.   The garage was burnt to the ground.  The fire extended into the home and into the attic.  Gomola called to have the attic cut open to vent the house.  Firefighters are still on scene and their investigation into the fire has just begun.
