1:27pm–#Bridgeport CT–A woman has been stabbed by a person she knows  at 1349 Park Avenue.  Police and EMS on scene.  1:50am–UPDATE–Police have one person in custody.  UPDATE:

Police Officer Leonard Alterio  was called to a Park Avenue grocery store at 1:22 a.m. Friday and encountered the victim, who was stabbed several times.

She explained that she and her boyfriend Andrew Kane, of 1335 Park Ave., got into an argument and that he stabbed her.  Officers walked over to his apartment and were allowed in by Kane’s roommate. They could not find Kane – until he called his roommate on the phone. Alterio took the phone and urged Kane to turn himself in but, over the handset, also could hear the voices of the other police officers in the apartment. He believed that meant Kane was nearby and his suspicion proved correct when Kane opened the door to an unused stairwell and emerged.

Kane was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and reckless endangerment. His bond was set at $50,000.
