First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield

Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor a “Shop & Stroll Into Spring” event on Thursday, April

3, 2014.

Participating shops in downtown Fairfield will stay open late and will offer patrons an assortment of

complimentary hors d’oeuvres and seasonal refreshments from 5 pm to 9 pm. Local restaurants will

be offering dinner or drink specials throughout the evening.

Bright Horizons at Fairfield, a daycare center, will also be offering discounted child care services

during the Stroll from 6 pm to 9 pm so that parents can enjoy a carefree night exploring downtown

Fairfield. The program can accommodate children up to ten years of age and will include a pizza

dinner and fun fitness and arts and craft activities. The program is limited to twenty children on a

first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your spot, or to obtain more information, call (203) 384-

4951.

“This is a great opportunity to celebrate the arrival of spring, support our local businesses and enjoy

a fun night out with family and friends,” said First Selectman Mike Tetreau.

Beverly Balaz, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce added, “The Chamber of

Commerce is happy to be partnering with the Town on this event as it will give our merchants

another opportunity to open their doors to the community, meet new customers from surrounding

towns and provide a wonderful shopping experience!”
