Just before 2am Monday morning, a call came in to the Bridgeport Fire Department for a structure fire at 245 Dixon Street. Firefighters on arrival found heavy smoke on the left side of the home. When the call came in to the fire department it was thought that the fire was started by someone that was still on scene. Police were immediately dispatched.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire that was on the first floor. They thoroughly checked to make sure the fire did not extend anywhere else to the home. The fire marshal was called to the scene. There were no reported injuries fighting blaze.
