Easton Emergency Medical Service (EVEMS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been dedicated to providing emergency services to the residents of the town of Easton since 1946. In the past year, EVEMS crews have responded to over 400 calls for EMS help in our community. We surely have responded to emergency calls in your neighborhood and possibly responded to you or your family’s request for emergency assistance.
Your donations from last year enabled us to provide training in hazardous material awareness, suicide prevention and current trends in transportation and care of Ebola patients. We have purchased equipment to insure that we are always ready to provide the highest quality care to you and your neighbors. In addition, we were able to grant scholarships to several Easton residents to enable them to pursue the required education and certification to serve as Emergency Medical Technicians in our town.
Our goal for this year’s annual appeal is to raise $30,000 to purchase the LUCAS® Chest Compression System and provide the associated training. The LUCAS system is designed to help improve outcomes of sudden cardiac arrest victims and improve operations for medical responders. Having this equipment on our ambulances could mean the difference between life and death. For more information on the Lucas®Chest Compression System, please see their website (www.physio-control.com/lucas/).
Our slogan this year is “neighbors helping neighbors.” Your contributions will help to keep EVEMS equipped and ready to go. Please give generously.
