#HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Governor’s Residence will be participating in the state’s 11th annual Connecticut Open House Day and will be open to the public for tours from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Connecticut Open House Day is an annual showcase coordinated by the Connecticut Office of Tourism that encourages residents and visitors to explore the state’s exciting destinations and attractions – new and old – by offering special incentives for one day only, such as free or reduced admission, free gifts, or special exhibits and activities. This year, on June 13, approximately 188 arts, history and tourism attractions throughout the state will be participating in the event, the full list of which can be found on the state’s tourism website at www.CTvisit.com .

“Nearly 200 tourist attractions and destinations throughout the state will be offering special deals and discounts as part of the annual Connecticut Open House Day festivities, giving residents and visitors alike a great opportunity to explore the museums, galleries, theaters, vineyards, shops and historic properties that make Connecticut so unique,” Governor Malloy said. “In addition, we are proud to open the Governor’s Residence once again for public tours during the day. I encourage everyone to visit CTvisit.com to see the full list of the day’s offerings and take full advantage of our state’s annual tourism showcase.”

The Governor’s Residence is located at 990 Prospect Avenue in Hartford. There is no admittance fee for the open house and tickets are not needed. Docents will be available for tours of the Residence, which will also include the outdoor sculpture park, featuring artwork donated by local artists, as well as the garden, designed by the architectural landscape program at the University of Connecticut. Italian ice will also be served on the outdoor patio.
