On September 11, 2015 at approximately 5:00 a.m. the Stratford Police Department executed a search warrant at 25 Yarwood St. in their town. During the course the search warrant, the accused approached Stratford Police Officers with a weapon –
not a firearm. The suspect disobeyed orders to stop, resulting in a Stratford Police Officer discharging his duty weapon at the suspect. The suspect received non-life-threatening injuries as a result. There were no reported injuries to Stratford Police Officers. The suspect was treated for his injuries, and transported to Bridgeport hospital for further evaluation. Stratford Police Officers took the accused into custody. At the request of the Stratford Chief of Police and Bridgeport States Attorney’s Office, detectives from Central District Major Crime responded to the scene and assumed the investigation into the discharge of the Stratford Police Officer’s duty weapon. This is an active investigation.
