Over the past few years, the Fairfield Police Department has recognized an increase in commercial motor vehicle traffic on our roads. On Tuesday 11/3/15, The Fairfield Police Traffic Unit worked in conjunction with the Connecticut
State Police Truck Squad to conduct Commercial Truck Safety Enforcement in the beach area of the Town of Fairfield. The Fairfield Police Traffic Unit encompasses four traffic safety officers along with two supervisors who enforce all traffic laws in the town of Fairfield, and The Connecticut State Police Truck Squad primarily focuses their efforts throughout the state assisting other municipalities.

Our enforcement effort resulted in sixteen traffic stops/inspections which lead to over $16,000 worth of infractions that were handed out. These infractions covered violations such as overweight trucks, equipment violations, and a suspended driver license etc. The Fairfield Police and Connecticut State Police Initiative was a success in making the streets safer in the town of Fairfield.
