Fairfield News: Sexual Assault At Fairfield U Update

#Fairfield Connecticut-- As we were the first to alert you to, a sexual assault took place at Fairfield University around 11pm Monday night.  Police say the victim was lured from a path to a wooded area when she was attacked.  The university issued a  warning students to "exercise caution and institute the buddy system when walking at night".  The state police K-9 was called to the scene  but Deputy Chief Chris Lyddy told me the dog did not find the suspect who was only described as a male around 40 years old.  University counselors have been with the victim.

Fairfield News: Kitchen Fire

UPDATE: Sources say the dishwasher caught fire... 5:43pm--#Fairfield Connecticut--Firefighters were met with heavy smoke from the front door when they arrived at 182 Alden Street and found a fire in the kitchen Assistant Fire Chief George Gomola told me.  The power was secured at the breaker box by firefighters and they check to see if the fire had extended to the second floor or basement.  The fire marshal was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.   It's always first on DoingItLocal!   See ALL of our posts, not just what Facebook shows you! Bridgeport News: Car Submerged At Captains Cove

7:54am--#Bridgeport Connecticut--First responders were called to 60 St. Stephens Road at the boat launch for a car submerged in the water.  Assistant Fire Chief Christopher Martin told me that rescuers were quick to the scene and were already in their scuba gear when Engine 7 arrived on scene and got quickly into the water.  There was nobody inside the car, divers used underwater cameras to look inside the Mazda SUV.  Scuba divers verified there nobody was outside the vehicle outside of the vehicle.  The crane used to place boats in the water was nearby and was used to pluck the vehicle from the water.  The car is thought to be stolen.  Special thanks to Garth Trotto for alerting me to the…
