#Bridgeport CT–Around 7am neighbors began pounding on doors at 2606 Main Street as the fire spread throughout the multi-family home where many were sound asleep. Everyone made it out safely.

The fire quickly spread in the older balloon framed house. It took firefighters over an hour to get the stubborn fire under control and a couple of hours chasing the hot spots.

City councilperson Jeanette Heron was on scene assisting those living there.  Red Cross officials are helping find temporary housing for the tenants and the fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
