Aquarion Water Company Warns Customers of Imposter Phone Call Scam

#BRIDGEPORT, CONN – November 2, 2017 – Aquarion Water Company is warning customers about a phone call scam, where an imposter is identifying themselves as Aquarion Water Company.  The imposter leaves a phone number for the customer to call back to make a water bill payment or pay a fine for tampering with their water meter. Bridgeport News: Hooker School On Lock In Lock Out

Police UPDATE: On November 1, 2017 at approximately 11:11 p.m., Troop G personnel responded to the area of the Yankee Doodle Bridge on I95 in Norwalk for a report of a person who had possibly jumped from the bridge.  The Norwalk Police and Fire Departments, Westport Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard utilized boats and attempted to locate this person but have been unsuccessful. Norwalk News: I-95 Police Activity Possible Jumper

State Police UPDATE: I'm sad to report that State Police said at 7am this morning they located the man's body in the Norwalk River near the Yankee Doodle Bridge.  The victim was pronounced deceased by Norwalk EMS and was positively identified as Evol M. Genias of Bridgeport.  The medical examiner will be conducting a post-morterm examination to determine the cause and manner of death.  They said there does not appear to be any criminal aspect to this incident and remains under investigation. 11:15pm--#Norwalk CT-- There is heavy police activity on I-95 between exits 15/16and around water banks for a  person who possibly jumped from the Yankee Doodle Bridge.

Westport Veterans Day Services Announced

#Westport, Conn. - William Vornkahl, President of the Westport Veterans Council, announced that the Town of Westport will hold Veterans Day services on Saturday, November 11 in the Town Hall auditorium. The public is invited. At 10:30 a.m., the Westport Community Band will present a “Patriotic Salute to All Veterans” program which will include marches and patriotic tunes. The services will begin at 11:00 am, the time that the Treaty was signed to end World War I. Senators Want Colleges To Protect Students From Themselves

Bridgeport Cops Arrest Barbershop Murder Suspect After Pursuit

#Bridgeport CT-- Last night, Mark Christian (DOB: 1/7/85) was apprehended by members of the Patrol Division after a vehicle pursuit that stemmed from a domestic dispute. Hours later, detectives arrested Christian and charged him in the October 14th, 2017, fatal shooting of Deon Rodney. Rodney had been working as a barber at the Just Right Cutz barber shop at 500 Park Avenue when Christian and another man robbed a patron in the parking lot of the shop. After the robbery, they attempted to attack the man again. When Rodney attempted to stop one of the attackers, who was armed with a handgun, the other one, Christian, shot and killed him.
