Westport News: Job Coach Back In Town

#Westport, CT - Elaine Daignault, Director of the Department of Human Services announces the return of the American Job Center Southwest’s Career Coach at Westport Town Hall.  On Thursday, February 8, 2018, the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft Excel 2013 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.  The Career Coach is a “training center” tour bus equipped with ten wireless computer labs offering free computer classes to residents in the greater Norwalk area.  The mobile unit operates on a monthly schedule of visits to various community locations and is accessible to people with disabilities. Bridgeport News: Guns, Drugs & A Sock Recovered After Shooting

12:22am--1/28/2018--#Bridgeport CT--In a story we reported to you minutes after it happened Sunday morning, police made numerous arrests at a shooting on East Main Street.  Police were working a detail in the parking lot of U-Haul at 650 Boston Avenue for an unobstructed view of the Elements Cafe at 1653 East Main Street.  Police had learned that there would be a birthday party there attended by known gang members. Stratford News: Condo Fire

Stratford Fire UPDATE: Approximately 10:30pm Sunday night, the Stratford Fire Department responded to a fire on the top floor of the Deerfield Woods Condominiums located at 3699 Broadbridge Ave. The fire was found in a bedroom of the third floor apartment that caused extensive damage throughout the unit. Under the command of Assistant Chief Reitmeyer, the Firefighters were able to contain the fire, limit the smoke damage to one section of the third floor and maintain control at the building of 100 units. The damaged apartment is home to a mother/daughter and was not occupied at the time of the incident but the tenants did return home during extinguishment to find their belongings ruined.
