BRIDGEPORT, CT – Bridgeport Police have arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed an 81-year-old pedestrian in July 2025.

On July 13, 2025, at approximately 9:39 p.m., the Bridgeport Police Emergency Operations Center received several calls reporting a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Park Avenue and Maplewood Avenue. Callers reported that the vehicle fled the scene and that the female pedestrian had suffered serious injuries.

Bridgeport Fire Engine 3, American Medical Response, and Bridgeport Police responded to the scene. The pedestrian, identified as 81-year-old Bridgeport resident Angela Pagan, was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where she died from her injuries at 10:29 p.m.

The Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Investigation Team responded and determined that an unknown vehicle had been traveling north on Park Avenue when it struck Pagan at the intersection of Park Avenue and Maplewood Avenue. Police said the vehicle then continued north on Park Avenue and fled the scene.

Officer E. Quiles investigated the crash and obtained an arrest warrant for Lorenzo Abrajan-Garcia, 49, of Bridgeport.

Abrajan-Garcia was arrested on August 7, 2026, and charged with Negligent Homicide with a Motor Vehicle and Evading Responsibility with Death.

His bond was set at $500,000.
