BRIDGEPORT TO HOST BACKPACK GIVEAWAY AND EDUCATION & LITERACY FAIR
BRIDGEPORT, CT – Bridgeport families are invited to take part in two back-to-school events on Saturday, August 15, 2026, beginning with the city's annual Backpack Giveaway at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center. The Backpack Giveaway will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 999 Broad Street. Free backpacks will be available to Bridgeport students while supplies last. Students must be present to receive a backpack, proof of Bridgeport residency is required, and there is a limit of one backpack per child.
