The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating an attempted home invasion on the West Side Friday night during which the suspects fired gunshots at persons outside the house as they fled.
Officers were dispatched to a house on Butler Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. Friday evening, after a resident observed two masked suspects trying to break into a side window. The suspects jumped over a fence to get onto the property.
After being scared off, the suspects ran to a car and fled, but not before firing gunshots at persons who were outside.
No one was injured.
A car belonging to one of the individuals who was fired at was struck by bullets. Shell casings were found in the area.
Police believe the house was being targeted.
The Detective Bureau was on scene and is investigating.
No arrests have made, so far.
