BRIDGEPORT POLICE ANNOUNCE ARREST IN AUGUST SHOOTINGS
The Bridgeport Police Department is announcing the arrest of a city man it says is responsible for two shootings hours apart on the East Side on August 1st, 2026. 29-year-old Bridgeport resident Justin Morales has been charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm in connection with both shootings. They occurred near the intersection of Boston Avenue and Seaview Avenue. Nobody was injured in either incident. The arrest of Morales was the result of an investigation by the Bridgeport Police Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force.
