Bridgeport firefighters responded at 8:14 p.m. after a tenant improperly mixed household chemicals inside an apartment on Hope Street, creating a strong chemical odor and a light cloud, according to Assistant Fire Chief Ellis.
The building was evacuated, and three civilians were being evaluated by EMS. State environmental officials were also called to the scene.
