WESTPORT, CT – Westport Police extradited a 36-year-old New Hampshire man back to Connecticut in connection with a June disturbance at the Delamar Hotel and several outstanding failure to appear warrants.
Police said officers responded to the Delamar Hotel, 1595 Post Road East, on the evening of June 14, 2026, after a neighboring guest complained to hotel staff about a loud argument in an adjacent room.
Officers spoke with the occupant of that room, who police identified as the victim. The victim reported that a verbal argument with Kenneth Haslam escalated when he allegedly threw the victim to the ground.
Police said computer checks showed the victim was listed as the protected party in six active court orders of protection involving Haslam. Investigators determined the conditions of those orders had been violated. Haslam had left the hotel before officers arrived, and an arrest warrant was later obtained.
Police later learned Haslam was believed to be living in New Hampshire. On July 27, local authorities took him into custody on Westport Police’s warrant.
On August 11, Westport detectives traveled to the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood, New Hampshire, where Haslam was being held, and extradited him back to Westport.
Kenneth Haslam, 36, of Hampton, New Hampshire, was charged with Disorderly Conduct and six counts of Violation of a Standing Criminal Protective Order.
Police said computer checks also showed Haslam was wanted on seven additional court-ordered warrants stemming from arrests by other agencies. He was additionally charged with six counts of Failure to Appear in the First Degree and one count of Failure to Appear in the Second Degree.
The combined bonds totaled $225,000.
Police said Haslam was unable to post bond and was transported to Stamford Superior Court for arraignment on August 12, 2026.
