FAIRFIELD ARTS COMMISSION LAUNCHES THEME CONTEST FOR UPCOMING ARTISTIC VISIONS CHALLENGE Public Invited to Suggest this Year’s Theme for Annual Arts Collaboration

FAIRFIELD, CT – The Fairfield Arts Commission invites the public to suggest a theme for this year’s Artistic Visions Challenge, which will be unveiled at a kick off event in early December. Now in its third year, the Artistic Visions Challenge is a town-wide juried art competition aimed at encouraging the creative community to collaborate and create art in new and unique ways. Artists are encouraged to push their creative boundaries to create a one-of-a-kind work that not only reflects the given theme, but also incorporates at least one “Easter Egg”—a hidden message or reference to engage the viewer. The competition is open to student artists ages 10-19 and adults (ages 20+) that either reside, work or attend school in Fairfield.
The Commission is seeking the public’s help in choosing the theme for this year’s challenge. The contest will run through November 15 and is open to all persons of all ages. The winner will be announced following the Commission meeting in November, and will receive a $50 Fairfield Community e-gift card. “We believe that engaging and encouraging our young people in the arts is essential for fostering creativity and community spirit,” said Commission Chair Charlie MacDonald. “We hope that the Art Challenge will inspire artists of all ages and provide them with an outlet for their creative expression.” Participants can submit their theme ideas via the link here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeHnTBhTyFNQslSj4RvxZResZxDJXkpsqpthMh9BVuhv-vjPA/viewform All submissions must be received by 11:59PM on November 15, 2026 in order to receive consideration. Individuals or businesses that have a passion for the arts and may be interested in sponsorship opportunities should contact the Fairfield Arts Commission at (203) 256-3120 or arts@fairfieldct.gov for more information.
