Shoplifter Pulls a Knife
(Bridgeport, CT – March 5, 2014) – Police are investigating a shoplifting turned robbery that happened on Tuesday.
Officer Pasquale Speranza responded to the Rite-Aid at 1060 E. Main St. just after 7 p.m. Speranza spoke with a store security officer, who stated that he observed on the store security system a woman in the makeup section tuck merchandise into her sleeve and attempt to leave the store.
He confronted her at the exit and told her to hand over the merchandise. She refused and walked out of the store. When the employee again told her to return the merchandise, the woman pulled out a knife before leaving the area.
The employee was not injured.
