DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Cop Hit By Car

Overnight at 2:10 a.m., Bridgeport received a call about a car accident at Lincoln Ave and Main St. The driver hit a police officer at the scene. The car was towed, and the officer was taken to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. The investigation is still ongoing.

2015 Barnum Festival Ringmaster Announced

Gregory J. Gnandt, 55, a philanthropist and general contractor from Trumbull, has been chosen as the 2025 Barnum Festival ringmaster. Gnandt, who revived the festival’s car show fundraiser into a popular event with concerts, food trucks, and vendors at Z-Topia in Monroe, has a long history with the festival. Growing up in Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Trumbull, the Barnum Festival was a cherished family tradition for Gnandt, who always dreamed of being the ringmaster. Gnandt’s life has been marked by community service, including organizing the first memorial after the Sandy Hook tragedy and the Green Ribbon Ride for the victims' families.
