His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: 16 Year Old Charged In Murder Of Woman

#Bridgeport Connecticut--On January 7, 2017, Elianna Cruz was seated in a parked vehicle at 1001 E. Main Street, Bridgeport. Also inside this vehicle were three other males. At approximately 9:05pm, two males walked though the parking lot of this location, and one of the males opened fire on the vehicle, striking Cruz. Cruz was transported by private vehicle to Bridgeport Hospital, where she remained until passing away on January 11, 2017. Detectives do not believe Cruz was the intended target in this shooting. Investigators quickly identified the suspected shooter, and Detective Heanue prepared an arrest warrant that was signed by a Superior Court Judge on January 18, 2017. Westport News: Energy Drinks Theft Arrest

On 09/21/16 at approximately 6:30pm, Westport Officers were dispatched to 1790 Post Road East, Stop and Shop, on a larceny complaint. Loss Prevention had the suspect, Louis Bottone, in custody. Bottone was arrested that day for stealing energy drinks. Officers were informed that Bottone was suspected of stealing $111.91 worth of energy drinks on 09/06/16. Officers viewed the surveillance footage from 09/06/16 and positively identified Bottone as the suspect. A warrant was submitted to Norwalk Court for the larceny committed on the 6th . On 01/14/17, Westport Officers responded to the Monroe Police Department to take custody of Bottone. He was processed for the above listed charge and has a court date on 01/19/17. CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE K-9 SILVER RECEIVES BODY ARMOR

#MIDDLETOWN CT –  Connecticut State Police’s K-9 Silver has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest will be embroidered with the sentiment “In Memory of K-9 Ike, Vancouver Police Department.” K-9 Silver has been assigned to Trooper First Class Thomas Mitri since September 2015 and is currently working at Troop G in Bridgeport. K-9 Silver is a two-and-a-half-year-old Malinois trained in all patrol functions including tracking, building searches, evidence recovery, apprehension, obstacles and obedience. Westport Police Officers Participate in No Shave Events

#Westport, Connecticut--For the second year in a row, members of the Westport Police Department participated in “No Shave November.”  No Shave November is a web-based, non-profit organization devoted to growing cancer awareness and raising funds to support cancer prevention, research, and education. The Officers also donated to Homes with Hope, a Westport based organization dedicated to helping the homeless locally.  For the months of November and December, members of the Westport Police Department grew beards to donate to these two causes. In order to participate, police officers made a donation of $75.00 each which will be broken up between to the two organizations. #Fairfield Connecticut--On November 15th 2016, an adult male victim responded to an advertisement on the mobile app “offer up”. "Offer Up" is an Internet app/site where individuals post and purchase items for sale and typically will meet in person to conduct their respective transactions. The victim in this case was attempting to purchase a used iphone 6 from a male who identified himself as screen name John from “Offer Up.”  The victim was directed to Browns Lane in Fairfield by “John”.
