DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: Structure Fire

9:49pm--#Bridgeport CT--Firefighters were called to 754/756 Maplewood Avenue for a structure fire. Firefighters found smoke on arrival. The fire was in the walls in the back of the building on the second and third floors. Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames and opened up the walls to make sure the fire was completely out. There were no reported injuries.

Bridgeport News: Attempted Armed Robbery

8:33pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at the apartments at 263 Ellsworth Street, the victim closed the door to their apartment on them avoiding the robbery.  Police are looking for two males, unknown race.  Both were thin build.  The gunman wore a black hoodie and had a white t-shirt with writing on it wrapped around his face.  The other had a dark sweatshirt and had a mask over his face.   This report is made possible by:

#Stratford CT--On September 24, 2015 the Stratford Police Department was contacted regarding allegations of inappropriate conduct by an adult female and a juvenile victim. The report alleged the suspect was a teacher’s aide with the Stratford School District. This information was later confirmed. As a result of the investigation Stratford Police detectives arrested 28 year-old Michelle Sulzicki in connection with this investigation. Sulzicki turned herself into Stratford Police on October 14, 2015. She was unable to post her $100,000 bond and was transported to Superior Court in Bridgeport. Bridgeport Police Department Investigates Non-Fatal Shooting

#Bridgeport, Conn. (October 14, 2015) -- The Bridgeport Police Department responded to a non-fatal shooting incident in which two people were wounded.  At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, police officers responded to a call regarding an alleged shooting incident near the corner of Mildner Dr. and Union Ave.  Upon arrival at the scene, police were made aware that two people had been shot, and the victims already were transported to Bridgeport Hospital in a private vehicle.  After contacting the hospital, police were made aware that the first victim -- an 18 year-old white male from Milford -- suffered a gunshot wound to the right shoulder and one to the chest. This year Heather is participating in AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer. She will be training to strengthen her body to walk over 39 miles in two days.
