His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. Westport Firefighter To Fight California Wildfires

A Westport Firefighter left yesterday for Northern California to assist with the wildfires after Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency. Assistant Chief Michael Kronick is joining the 20-person fire crew from the Connecticut  Interstate Fire Crew that is part of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The D.E.E.P. maintains a roster of staff and personnel from local fire departments who are certified to fight wildfires, which in turn allows Connecticut to participate in a reciprocal aid program operated by the U.S. Forest Service. A.C. Kronick was last deployed in 2013 to assist Canada with a stubborn fire in the Northern Province of Quebec; he has also been deployed out West several times before. Stratford News: Home Invasion

#Stratford CT--Early Tuesday morning at 2:30am Stratford Police were dispatched to a home on Birdseye Street for a report of a home invasion. The victims reported that male suspects entered the rear yard and pistol whipped two people on the outside deck and forcing them inside the home. Once inside the pistol whipped two more people and held them at gunpoint. The other suspect then ransacked the home removing jewelry, money and electronics and then fled. The Stratford Detective Bureau arrived on scene to follow up on leads. Two suspects were located at the local hotel at 360 Honeyspot Road and an apprehended by the detectives and police patrol. Bridgeport’s New Paving System (Video Report)

#Bridgeport CT--Last time I interviewed Jorge Garcia of the Bridgeport Public Facilities and he was showing off the Pot Hole Killer and how quickly it filled pot holes.  Now Jorge has discovered a new way to repave roads faster at a fraction of the cost of the traditional "mill and fill" system.  The new system not only recycles but is much faster.  Typically it takes a week to pave a road, the new system repaves the road in a day.  Off camera Jorge mentioned that this faster system does not inconvenience those that park on the street for the week as well.  The city is paving a historic 30 miles of roads this year.  This was recorded last week on…

Bridgeport News: Two-year-old in fair condition after being struck by vehicle

Bridgeport Police Press Release: #Bridgeport, Conn. Westport News: Mom Arrested Leaving Child In Car

Police were called to the parking lot of Whole Foods, 399 Post Road West, on a report of an infant left unattended in a vehicle. Arrested on $1,000 bond was Milan Kunajukr of Westport.  Upon arrival the officers found the vehicle unlocked and running with the infant inside. Kunajukr exited the store and returned to her vehicle a short time after police arrival. Based on the facts and circumstances she was place under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Arrangements were made to have the father take custody of the infant who was evaluated by EMS before leaving the area. The weather at the time of the incident was approximately 84 degrees, however the interior of the vehicle was cool as the air conditioning was on. DCF…
