His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Governor Creates Commission on Youth & Urban Violence

#HARTFORD, CT –Governor's Press Release:   Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that they are forming a panel of experts and community leaders from a variety of backgrounds who will be charged with reviewing the sources and causes of youth violence in urban areas, as well as developing proposals that will further reduce the rate of violent crime.   Recently released statistics show that today, overall crime in Connecticut is at a 48-year low.  Since 2011, violent crime is down 36 percent statewide and criminal arrests have decreased by nearly 28 percent.  Violent crime in the state’s three largest cities has fallen 15 percent since 2008.  Still, the Governor said there is more we can…

Bridgeport News: Propane Tank Explodes During Fire

A fire and then a propane tank exploded on a second floor at 152 Grove Street this Monday night. The homeowner credited their daughter for getting everyone out of the house safely. Neighbors across the street said all they saw was smoke coming from the home until the explosion shook their home and then they saw cinders flying upward. There were no reported injuries. Assistant fire Chief Chistopher Martin lead the attack on the fire. Firefighters had to open up walls to fully extinguish the stubborn fire that extended to the third floor. Westport News: No Animals at Beaches Effective April 1

Westport Parks & Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy today reminded citizens that as of April 1 the “no animals at the beaches” regulation will be in effect.
