DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport Detectives Investigate Shooting

Bridgeport Police Press Release: #Bridgeport, Conn. (Jan. 31, 2015) -- Detectives are investigating a shooting today that happened on Trumbull Avenue near Terrace Circle. The victim, identified as Khyren Best, 14, of Bridgeport, was walking with two other males  at approximately 2:30 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up and the driver fired several shots. The teen was struck in the buttocks. The vehicle was described as a silver-colored car. The victim was taken in a private vehicle to Saint Vincent's Medical Center, and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.  Police are interviewing witnesses.
