His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. Westport News: Subway Armed Robbery

Westport CT- Westport Police responded to the Subway Restaurant located at #903 Post Rd East on a reported robbery. Employees of the store indicated that an individual entered the store at approximately 10:10 am, he is described as a black male, 6’ tall, muscular build wearing a dark blue hoodie, dark grey or black pants, a black ski type mask with only his eyes exposed, black gloves and displayed a silver colored handgun. The employees retreated to the rear of the store at the sight of the armed individual and he then went behind the counter and removed the cash box from the register. Westport News: Dog License Renewal and Rabies Clinic Notice

Westport Town Clerk Patricia Strauss has announced that beginning June 1 dog licenses may be obtained from her office. All dogs over six months must be licensed. “Licensing your dog verifies that rabies immunization is up to date, as the dog owner must present a copy of the pet’s rabies certificate when obtaining a license,” said Strauss. “A $75 infraction will be issued for any non-licensed dog and for any dog not wearing a current dog tag attached to a collar around its neck or body,” she said. Governor Signs Do Not Call Registry To Include Text Messages

#HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has signed into law a bill that will reduce unwanted, unsolicited commercial phone intrusions by modernizing the state’s “Do Not Call” registry to include text messages in addition to the already prohibited phone calls. “The ‘Do Not Call’ registry provides consumers with protection and privacy from unwanted telemarketing calls, and as technology evolves we must update it to ensure these consumer rights,” Governor Malloy said.  “In addition to being an annoyance, some cell phone plans charge a fee for each text message received, whether that message was wanted or not.  This new law strengthens these consumer protections by banning unsolicited commercial text messages and increasing the penalty for these…

Bridgeport News: Suspect Arrested in May 21 Robbery

#Bridgeport, CT – May 29, 2014– Police arrested a 19-year-old Bridgeport man in connection with the robbery of a 56-year-old woman in their apartment building. On Wednesday, Detective Michael Fiumidinisi received information that the suspect in a May 21 robbery had been seen inside 199 Yacht St., the same apartment building where the robbery occurred. Detectives Fiumidinisi and Chris Borona responded to the location with Officers Omar Jimenez, Michael Salemme and Matthew Goncalves. The detectives and officers checked the building and located a person matching the description of the robber. The victim subsequently identified the suspect, Wilberto Toribio,  as the one who robbed and assaulted her last week.
