His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. Ansonia Homicide

On July 14, 2023 at about 1:40 P.M., the Ansonia Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired and a person shot on Hodge Avenue. First officers on scene found a male in the driveway of 124 Hodge Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male, Abduljalil Humphrey age 30 of Ansonia, was transported to Griffin Hospital where he was pronounced dead. During the initial investigation two cars were identified as being involved in the incident and the Ansonia Police Department is attempting to locate the cars. Bridgeport News: 1 Dead In Early Morning Fire

Bridgeport CT-- At 0420hrs this morning, July 14, 2023, the Bridgeport ECC received a 911 call reporting a structure fire in Building 43, located in the 400th block of Success Ave. Bridgeport Fire, AMR, and PD were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the Bridgeport Fire Command observed heavy smoke and fire on the first and second floors of an apartment, causing extensive damage to that unit. Smoke conditions throughout the building necessitated an evacuation. Two individuals from the initial apartment were safely evacuated and transported to Bridgeport Hospital. Their current conditions are unknown. Home Invasion and Robbery Arrests

On the morning of July 12, 2023, two Norwalk residents were taken into custody following theirinvolvement in several cases of burglary, robbery, and home invasion.On May 22, 2023, a residence on Lexington Avenue was burglarized, cash was taken, and atelevision and other items were damaged. A report was filed with the Norwalk PoliceDepartment on the following day. On May 24, 2023, a home invasion occurred at the sameaddress, and was reported to investigators the next day. During this incident, two men entered theresidence, cash was taken at gunpoint, as well as a jacket. U.S. Department of Energy Awards the City of Bridgeport Public Schools an Energy Efficiency Grant, Led by University of Connecticut Efforts

Bridgeport, CT – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced that it has selected a proposal submitted by the University of Connecticut (UConn) and Bridgeport Connecticut Public Schools (BPS), to implement comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable projects at two Bridgeport public schools through the U.S. DOE’s Office of State and Community Energy Programs. The total award for two projects and support for the energy efficiency workforce development and training is $3.6 million, of which over $3 million is expected to be invested in technology and upgrades for the schools. Bridgeport News: Person Shot

Police Update: On July 12, 2023, at approximately 10:50 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center (EOC) received reports of shots fired with a victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1200 block of Park Avenue. During that time, police received a ShotSpotter activation in that area indicating more than 20 rounds were fired. As Officers responded to the scene, EOC provided them with updated information. A male party injured by gunfire was now being transported from the scene to the hospital via private vehicle. A short time later, a 23-year-old Bridgeport man presented at an area hospital suffering from a single gunshot wound to the neck. He is listed in stable condition. Ansonia News: Shooting Arrest

#Ansonia CT-- On July 11, 2023, Jonathan Javier Martinez was arrested by warrant for his involvement in the June 22, 2023, shooting in the Rite Aid and Marshalls parking lot at 407 Main Street. Martinez was the aggressor in a dispute that started over Martinez believing the victim, a 31-year-old Ansonia resident, said something to him as the victim drove passed him on Main Street. Martinez followed the victim into Marshalls where he confronted the victim demanding to see the victim’s car. The two went outside where the victim attempted to show Martinez he was not involved in the incident and Martinez threatened the victim.
