1:34pm--#Bridgeport CT--Off duty police officer reports hearing shots fired in the area of Connecticut and Wilmont Avenue. Reports say two males in a white Hyundai may be responsible. No reports of anyone or anything being hit.
Derby fire
7:20am--#Derby CT--Firefighters battled an early morning blaze at 146 Park Ave. One woman was sent to the hospital for non life threatening injuries. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Police Investigate Weekend Shooting
(Bridgeport, CT – Sep 9, 2013) – A 29-year-old man was shot Sunday and brought to Bridgeport Hospital by an acquaintance. Police responded to the hospital at 5:30 p.m. on a report of a shooting victim. Jerrell Gatewood, of Bridgeport, suffered a gunshot wound to his chest. Based on information gathered at the hospital, police responded to the 200 block of Connecticut Avenue, where the shooting reportedly occurred. A witness told police that Gatewood was working on his vehicle at the location when the gunman approached, argued with the victim and then shot him. The suspect then fled on foot. Detectives Kenneth McKenna and Artur Calvao are investigating the incident. No arrest has been made.
