DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Sailboat Rescue

6:23pm--#Stratford CT--Firefighters and the zodiac being dispatch on Housatonic River near Short Beach for a sailboat that had a fire on board, the fire is now reported to be out.  There is one adult and four children, all have life preservers on.  The children are now complaining of feeling sick now. Stratford Firefighters update: At approximately 18:49 E3, E1, L1, and C3 were dispatched to the Housatonic River, in the area of Short Beach, for a boat in distress. Reported to be a fire on a sailboat that is now out. 5 souls on board. E1 and L1 staffed Marine Rescue 1. Dude sexually assaulted by his boyfriend

2:39am--Police received a call from a man that sated he was being raped by his boyfriend outside Hooker School on Hooker Roadand the call disconnected.  Police were quick to the scene and located two males in the area but calls back to the phone go to voice mail.  After further investigation police realize these are the two men and EMS was dispatched for one for "assault" and the other off to booking.
