Bridgeport Structure Fire
At 04:28 this morning, the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire with visible flames in the 1000th block of Fairfield Avenue. In response to these calls, the Bridgeport Fire Department, along with the Police and AMR, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the on-scene Fire Command reported a working fire situation, which was subsequently upgraded to a 2nd alarm. The fire was contained within a first-floor apartment. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident. One of the occupants affected by the fire is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. If it weren't for our viewers reporting shots fired and sending in this crime scene photo this probably would have gone unreported. After asking for more information ALL the media received a press release. On September 12th, 2023, at 17:37 hours, the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a ShotSpotter Activation alert in the vicinity of Park Street and Shelton Street. In response to this alert, the Bridgeport Police Department dispatched officers to the specified area. Upon arrival at the scene, officers reported the discovery of multiple shell casings at the intersection and proceeded to secure the area as a crime scene. Bridgeport News: Teen Homicide Investigation
#Bridgeport CT-- On September 9, 2023, at approximately 1:30 pm Bridgeport Police responded to report(s) of a party shot in the face in the 300 block of Pacific Street. After arriving at the scene, Officers located a 16-year-old male inside the residence suffering from a single critical gunshot wound to his head. The 16-year-old victim was quickly transported to an area hospital where he was admitted into the intensive care unit. Due to the injuries reported on September 9, 2023, the Detective Bureau’s Homicide Squad took charge of the investigation. They were assisted by Detectives from the Forensic Identification Unit. 2023-09-10@03:32am--#Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received two ShotSpotter activations for Highland Avenue, followed by multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots and potential blood trails. Bridgeport Police and AMR (American Medical Response) were dispatched to the scene. Preliminary reports from the scene indicate that there is a gunshot wound (GSW) victim in the 100th block of Center Street, and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Additionally, Bridgeport Hospital notified the ECC that another individual with a gunshot wound arrived at their Emergency Room via a private vehicle. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown. This incident is currently active and under investigation. Bridgeport News: Arrest In 2022 Homicide
On September 7, 2023, members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force took 39-year-old Iyana Reynolds into custody for the January 2, 2022, murder of Andre Brown in Bridgeport CT. Reynolds had an outstanding extraditable murder warrant out of Bridgeport CT. She was located in the island country of Jamaica and extradited to the United States. This evening, the Fugitive Task Force transported Reynolds to the Bridgeport Police Department where she was charged with Murder, Commission of A, B or C Felony with a Firearm, and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Bridgeport News: Arrest Made In Apartment Fire-Ruled Homicide
#Bridgeport CT--Homicide Detective Thomas Harper's investigation identifies Joe Parker III, a resident of apartment 14 in building 86, Success Village, as the suspect responsible for the fatal fire. Parker is charged with 2 counts of Manslaughter in the 2nd Degree and has a $750,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for September 8, 2023, in Bridgeport Superior Court. This is the city's 15th and 16th homicide for 2023.
