Police UPDATE: At approximately 9:15pm, the Bridgeport Police Department responded to the intersection of East Main Street and Bass Pro Dr to report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. No further information at this time Report of a pedestrian struck at 200 East Main Street, right off of I-95 Exit 28 North. Bridgeport, CT — Bridgeport Public Schools, in partnership with the Bridgeport Rotary Club, announces the launch of a district-wide School Uniform Closet initiative. Electrical Fire Displaces 9

At approximately 4:15pm, the Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the 800 block of North Avenue to a fire in the area of the electrical panel which was quickly extinguished. UI has shut power off to the structure. No reported injuries and the Fire Marshal’s office is investigating. 9 adults are being relocated by the Red Cross.

Mayor Ganim and the Department of Public Facilities Announce the Opening of City Parks for 2025 Memorial Day Weekend

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim and the Bridgeport Department of Public Facilities has announced the opening date for the City’s parks for Saturday, May 24, 2025. Mayor Ganim is reminding all residents that checkpoints will be in effect for all visitors to purchase park stickers from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend in September. Residents should be aware that checkpoints will accept Credit Cards only for payment. There is also the option of obtaining Park Stickers at the City’s Parks & Recreation department via Cash or Credit, located at 7 Quarry Rd, Trumbull, CT, Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm.
