Bridgeport News: I-95 Pursuit After Police Car Hit

Police UPDATE:  Bridgeport Police were called to the Hollister Avenue for a preliminary report of a possible street fight. Several officers responded to the scene including K9 Officer Cetti, Officer Ribeiro,and Officer Uliano. Upon arrival,100-150 patrons were exiting a club and proceeding to their vehicles. As Officers were assisting in getting the crowd cleared out K9 Officer Cetti placed her police vehicle across the roadway with her emergency lights on so as to direct traffic North onto Logan Street from parking lots so as they was cleared out they had an easy egress from the event. Small & Minority Business Enterprise Director Fred Gee reminds local business owners that there are still resources available to provide emergency relief to businesses impacted by COVID-19; such as Emergency Injury Disaster Loans.   Emergency Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) of up to $150,000 are available to business owners via the Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide financial relief from temporary loss of revenue caused by COVID-19. Bridgeport News: Weapon Charges

On September 3rd, 2020 members of the Gang Unit (SUVCCCTF), Statewide Narcotics, FBI Safe Street and ATF working together executed a Search Warrant at 88 Butler Avenue Bridgeport, CT utilizing Police Emergency Services Unit. The investigation was conducted to help combat the rise in firearm violence taking place throughout the city of Bridgeport, CT. Upon execution of the search warrant members of Emergency Services Unit (ESU) encountered a male later identified as Jermaine Bethel DOB 2/25/1996 laying on the couch in possession of a fully-loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Bethel was taken into custody without incident.   Upon further investigation the firearm was confirmed stolen. Bridgeport, CT – In observance of Labor Day, City of Bridgeport reminds residents of City services that will be delayed or closed during the holiday weekend. Transfer Station Closed Monday, September 7th. (Open on Saturday, September 5th, 7am - 3pm) The Transfer Station is owned and operated by the City of Bridgeport to provide community access to environmentally responsible disposal and recycling services. The facility is open to the public year-round; Monday-Saturday, 7 am-3pm. Bridgeport News: Shooting

2020-09-03@6:00pm--Many of you contacted us about a shooting on William Street on Thursday.  Police said the Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation for the area of Arctic and William St. Upon arrival police were able to recover several shell casings and subsequently reports of vehicles struck by gunfire. In addition, a vehicle was impounded by Police that was involved in a motor vehicle on-scene. No reports of injuries had occurred. This is still an active investigation. The Bridgeport Police Department needs our community’s assistance in ensuring we bring any one responsible for this to justice.
