Dice Convenience Smoke Shop Employee Arrested After Cannabis Seizure; Products Test Positive for Fentanyl

On Friday, May 29, 2026, the Bridgeport Police Department’s Narcotics and Vice Division, working alongside the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Drug Control Division, the Bridgeport Fire Inspectors Office, and the Bridgeport Health and Building Departments, executed a search and seizure warrant at Dice Convenience Smoke Shop, located at 4016 Main Street. During the operation, authorities seized approximately 23.24 pounds of cannabis and THC-related products as part of an ongoing effort to address the illegal sale of cannabis products from smoke shops in Bridgeport. Officers also recovered $654 in cash believed to be proceeds from illegal sales. Bridgeport Woman Fatally Stabbed at Park Avenue Rooming House; Homicide Investigation Underway

The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating the death of a woman found stabbed at a Park Avenue rooming house shortly after midnight on Tuesday. Officers were dispatched to the 350 block of Park Avenue around 12:05 am for an altercation involving numerous persons. The victim, 41-year-old Willesha Riddick of Bridgeport, was bleeding and unresponsive at the front door of the house. She was transported by ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital and pronounced deceased. It was determined Ms. Reddick was stabbed multiple times. A second female suffered a minor stab wound at the house. Bridgeport Police have released additional information regarding an incident that occurred Sunday morning in the area of Donald Court and Eckart Street. At approximately 8:47 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to reports of an assault. Initial information indicated that a man had suffered a neck injury during an altercation. Police have since clarified that the incident was not a stabbing, as was initially believed. As the investigation progressed, police arrested Abrnalesa Orellano, 32, of Bridgeport. She was charged with Second-Degree Assault, Carjacking, Interfering with an Officer/Resisting Arrest, and Reckless Driving.
