8:22pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A motorcyclist and car collide at Evers and Huntington Turnpike. First responders on the way. This news report is made possible by:
7:40pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A man got into an argument and was stabbed several times at the corner of Hancock and Maplewood Avenue according to witnesses. A short time later police were called to Bridgeport Hospital where the victim was transported for upset family members who showed up. Radio reports said the hospital was on lock down as a result.
1:25am--#Bridgeport CT-- Reports of shots fired on Ellsworth Street near Brester and Hackley Street. So far no word of anyone or anything reported hit. This news report is made possible by:
11:00PMish--Right around 11pm shots were fired by a white car striking a man at Pearl Street at Noble Avenue. Police were combing the area for shell casings and other evidence when I left the scene. A short time later police reported they recovered a firearm and had a suspect in custody at Central and Deacon Street. I don't know at this time if the two scenes are connected. 3:11pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A person who was shot was dropped off Bridgeport Hospital in a private vehicle. No word where the person was shot either on his body or where in town it may have happened. 2:31pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Injuries were reported in the crash on Huntington Road in front of the Briarwood Condos involving a car and a UPS truck.
8:40pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are investigating an armed robbery at Orland and Fairfield Avenue. The victim said she was robbed by three males, one wore a mask and two had guns. They fled north on Orland Avenue according to radio reports. This news report is made possible by:
The state of Connecticut is now in special session to get a budget for the state and there still is no state budget. It can mean cuts to many towns and cities. I met with Mayor Ganim to see what impact no budget will have on Bridgeport. Mayor Ganim said the lack of budget will cut over twenty-seven million dollars from Bridgeport's budget. This is only five percent across the board. “I guess when you say it this way it doesn't sound like much,” Ganim admitted. However, it will be difficult as police, fire, education, and employees will not be cut. The mayor is concerned about it, and so far the mayor has made some budget and hiring freezes. The…
